I personally prefer a somewhat original design. Of course all designs are influenced by what came before, but when an “homage” is nearly identical to a specific iconic model save for the logo on the dial (which is the case for some but not all PD), that for me is too un-original for my preference, regardless of quality or value otherwise. I’d rather have an original Casio or Timex design in that price range personally.

When you are poor, there is no need for justification. PD is so low on the chart there are no other option that can compare.
