I’m from Europe so I’m talking about European sizes. When my feet stopped growing I always had size 38. Then I had issues with my feet, needed medical insoles and now I noticed I’m more like a 39 or 38,5 if a brand has in between. Last time I checked I think my feet where about 24,5 cm on my largest foot. Since all this fitting shoes is a struggle. 38 seems just a bit to small and maybe only 0,5 cm wiggle room, while with 39 I sometimes seem to have 1,5-2cm wiggle room. Some say 0,5cm is enough wiggle room is enough and 1,5cm is way too much and my cause more issues. So that has me all confused, I even hate to shop shoes now because it gives me so much stress.

What do others do when you are in between sizes? Opt for the smaller or the bigger one? Or not buy it at all?

    For me, it’s the sound.

I try on both sizes, one up one down. It should make a sort of swoosh-ing sound when I enter the shoe, but it shouldn’t feeld cramped in front.

Depends on the type of shoe material of course, but the sound is usually key.

Maybe it’s just not your brand anymore, see if the have (for exmple) wide versions - sometimes it’s not even the length that’s the problem.
