I am looking to get my husband a nice gift. He doesn’t own any luxury watches, but has mentioned liking this one before. I know nothing about watches so … do you think this Tissot would make a good gift? Otherwise, would you be able to recommend some nice ones under $500?

If I could only have 1 watch, it might be a Tissot PRX. I love mine. It has such nice finishing, and looks much better in person than in pictures. It’s just a very nice versatile watch. It doesn’t look out of place with a suit or with jeans and a t-shirt. I really like the integrated bracelet and how it lays on my wrist, very comfortable. It would be a great gift for your husband. You could look at other brands or models, but if he has said he likes this, then I’d say this is a good pick.

Quartz watch might last a few years then the batteries will have to be replaced. The machinaical gentleman’s might tick for 30 years for around $550 on Amazon I’d pay the extra $160

Lots of gatekeepers and nerds sharing their opinions.

Tissot is a great brand and an accessible Swiss made watch. The PRX is a very cool and popular watch. If my wife gifted me one I’d wear the hell out of it, despite owning more high end watches.

I’m sure whatever you do will make him happy!

I love this watch. I have the automatic version. But they all look great. They wear well and are remarkably well finished for how inexpensive they are in relativity to other watches of its caliber

If your gonna get a Quartz model, I’d look at their PRC 200 variant chronographs.

They’re very nice and won’t cost $500+ to service like an automatic chrono

The Citizen Tsuyosa has a similar feel and look to the Tissot… The dark blue dial… The black dial. Funkier colours Yellow. Light Blue. Good price. Saphire Crystal. Five years guarantee.

The gentleman is better than the PRX and I will die on this.

I’d own one if I didn’t have noodle wrists (I’ve owned a PR50 for years though).

This is a great blind buy for a gift for a man. Lot of people would say get the powermatic version but I also have this quartz version and it’s just fine. The quality is outstanding. You can feel it’s just a well made watch. Got mine from Jomashop. Pay lot less than retail price from them.

Tissot is an amazing company with many affordable and solid watches. Personally, I would recommend the PRX Powermatic 80. It looks the same but a much better watch all together. In the grey market you can get it below $500 or even some retailers may have it on sale because the approaching holidays.

I literally just bought the automatic version of this watch the other day and have been loving it so far, but I will say that the look might not be for everybody. It’s absolutely high quality, but it is definitely a flashy vintage vibe.

I’m sure he’d love it, but maybe also consider something like a Seiko Cocktail Time or a Hamilton Khaki Field? Everybody loves those.

Just some thoughts. The PRX is a great choice too.

If he’s dropped a not so subtle hint to a Tissot get the man a Tissot. Years of heritage. Years of quality watchmaking. Some smart sharp watches. Gentlemen. This one. The T Classic. Divers. Some great watches for five tonne. I’d be made up with a Tissot. No doubt. Before you pay the cash out maybe ask him or go for a stroll and check out a few stores.

Anyhow. Enjoy the process. I’m pretty sure you’ll find something perfect.
