I know quality shoes are like £100-£200 or so, but I’m wondering if there are any cheaper options that are any good, comfort would be nice but I just don’t want to get my socks wet when I have to cross a puddle.

I do live in a hilly area so grip would be great too, but the rain has been bothering me the most

A lot of the premium brands will have clearance prices for last years model at or under your price point. I don’t know about the UK, but in the US a lot of brands have “factory” or “outlet” stores that sell cheaper versions and also have large sections of old product at massively reduced prices (I regularly find $300-400 designer shoes for $70-120 this way).

Chiming in to say to look online at even higher end used brands. I primarily only wear gucci leather shoes now and they’re like a dream. I’ve never paid over 150$ for a pair and they literally last decades if you take care of them.

Buy discounted and out of season, I buy my winter footwear in May or June.
