I would get some dye and take your time and carefully turn them into a pair of customs.

Patiently and carefully dye that section black let the dye bleed slowly to the edges of the other section, so to keep the adjacent section grey.

And dye some other sections too to make a cool custom color blocking.

Maybe just dye the upper part with pen and the wings and leave the bottom grey
