Hello

I plan to make a 6 watch collection like several I’ve seen on here. I’m coming to learn that a watch cost $500 every five years and more for a chronograph according to the websites. Are people really paying $3k every 5 years to maintain their collection?

Or should I get some cheaper luxury watches to mix in the Omegas and Tudors I plan to buy?

If you only have one watch that you wear every day, obviously you’ll need to service it much earlier than if you have a collection of watches that all share the time on your wrist.

I’d say service the watch when it needs service. The only exception would be if you buy an old vintage watch where spare parts are literally non existent, or super hard/expensive to get.

So if I’m understanding Vintage watches are much more expensive to service? Will a Speedmaster now be a headache to fix in 20 years?
