I’ll go first. Mine is that “skin like foundations” never actually look like skin in real life. They’ll look flawless on camera, TV, film, but that’s because they’re trying to mimic reality with makeup because of what’s gets lost on camera. So while it looks like nothing on film, it looks like makeup in real life. You’re not going to get that “second skin” look without the presence of a camera. It looks like makeup, and that’s okay. So that’s mine, what’s yours?
“Clean girl” aesthetic is ridiculous, the rest of us aren’t dirty and it seems pointless to apply all that product only to end up looking exactly the same as you did before. Neutral makeup in general is overrated and no fun at all. Along that line, neutral should not be the immediate standard for wedding makeup!
There’s a reason that wedding makeup is Classic by default, however, if the bride isn’t a neutral makeup wearer in her everyday life she shouldn’t opt for that on her wedding day. And vice versa. I’ve done plenty bridal makeups over the years and my number 1 piece of advice was to choose a look that represents YOU. If you wanna wear blue eyeshadow with gold glitter on your wedding day, do it (this is referencing an actual makeup I did YEARS ago). Brides should feel as beautiful as possible and wear what makes them feel comfortable and authentic :)
