Sorry if this isn’t the right sub, but figured y’all would have some suggestions. Dry skin runs in my family, and I’m heavily addicted to chapstick. I have to reapply it every few hours or my lips crack, especially in the winter. My brother got married last weekend (for those of you who gave me tips, thank you so much, you were all so helpful! And the wedding was amazing!) and the makeup artist told me to stop using chapstick. She explained it doesn’t actually moisturize and that I should use something else. I don’t know what she told me to use, but whatever she put on my lips before the lipstick left my lips feeling amazing all day. I looked up lip moisturizer online and they are quite expensive, like $30 for a little tiny tube. Does anyone here recommend a specific product (or ingredients to look for in a product) that won’t break the bank?

I have dry lips due to a medication I’m taking. Chapstick (lip balms in general) don’t really work, it’s true (it just keeps you in a cycle of having to reapply), and unfortunately Aquaphor and Vaseline don’t work for me either. It helps for like a half hour, then back to dry lips/mouth. I’ve been using the Wet N Wild lavender perfect pout sleeping lip mask. It’s helping me out more than Aquaphor ever did.
