I love watches but always bought what looked good and not what was expensive.

My beloved 10 year old Bulova makes a Submariner look like shit.

I consider myself a successful person at this point. I make a quarter million dollars a year, have no debt or a family to take care of.

I have about 300k rotting in the bank and was just thinking about buying a “nice watch”

I wanted to buy a full gold rolex daytona in black but it’s virtually impossible to buy a new one.

a friend of mine suggested a Omega diver 300m. these are only going for 5900 if you dont get any gold.

I wouldnt spend more than this on a watch nobody cares about (no offense). if im gonna spend a lot on a watch, the name has to be behind it and everyone knows rolex.

question is, what should i do? i like sporty watches. any other brands i should look into?

Omega is the second most famous watch brand, if you want more brand brand recognition than Omega your only choice is Rolex. Buy the gold Daytona grey market.

If you want flex watches to impress people who like expensive watches you can look at:

    -Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

    -Patek Philippe Nautilus

    -Cartier Santos in gold

    -Hublot Big Bang

    - Any Richard Mille

Well with that 300k I’d go for something like a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle Heures du Monde, A. Lange & Shöne Lange 1, Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire, or a Patek Philippe 5146. You can get them in white, gold, yellow gold or (sometimes) red gold. This way you spend between 35k to 45k in a nice, elegant, and (quite) expensive watch and then you’ve got 250k you can invest in stocks, securities, real estate.

If you like Rolex there’s the Day-Date 40mm in that price range.
