Hi, first post here but long time lurker. As the title says, what’s a sentimental timepiece to you?

For me it’s an old Seiko quartz from the 80s given to me by my father. It was a gift from his parents to him after he graduated high school. He’s since upgraded to a Rolex submariner and passed the Seiko onto me.

It’s a thin, small watch with only a case size of about 34 mm. Definitely an adjustment to the large men’s watches of today, but it quickly grew on me and became one of my most worn pieces. I like to wear it on days where I’m nervous, such as the an important presentation or the start to something new. I feel it brings me luck, in addition to being an elegant piece.

If anyone is curious, I’d happily include an image of it or it’s reference number.

What about you? Which one is special to you?

My grandfathers Omega ref 111.003, cal. 620. He purchased this way back in 1963 and has worn it constantly ever since until gifting it to me earlier this year. This is the watch that got my into watches.

I’m unsure if the black is a redial though, from others I’ve seen they all have a light coloured white/cream dial.

It would have to be my Citizen diamond bezel perpetual calendar. It was the first watch that caught my eye that I saved up for months to get. At the time it was my “pimped out” watch.

It was just a great time for me. Me and my friends were hitting up bars and picking up chick’s. I needed some bling so I got the watch. It has a lot of memories of all the good times I had with it.

My grandfather had a victorinox quartz field watch he wore for decades.

After he died I used to wear it pretty regularly until a couple of years back when I passed it on to my little brother to congratulate him on getting into his masters’ program.

    I have two.

The first is a Kenneth Cole skeletonized mecha-quartz thing. I bought it for my wedding, and it was a very expensive purchase for me at the time. I knew nothing about capital W watches at the time but liked that it had to be hand wound.

The second is a Casio Duro. I don’t prefer the dive watch aesthetic in a vacuum, but after my son was born I needed something could mark when a feeding or nap started and how long it had gone for, and so I had Amazon deliver one of these ASAP. Not only does it remind me of my son, but whenever I wear a watch without a timer bezel I feel naked.

Definitely my SKX007. It was my first watch and the one I wore on all of my travels overseas. I wear a Speedmaster now but the Seiko will always be special to me.

    F-91W with a broken strap.

I bought it shortly after I joined the Air Force and it got me through BMT.

That watch helped me schedule and bring stability to my life during a time where things were very chaotic, with endless hurry up and wait. It helped me count down the days and weeks.

And even after basic I continued to wear that watch for about 2 years until the strap broke. I’ve been wanting to replace it for a long time, and I’m not sure if I’d rather replace it entirely or just the strap, because I know it’ll cost the same either way. A new watch would probably be a better use of my money, but there’s so much history between me and that watch.

She got me this ALL BLACK Movado for charismas as I said I was interested in watches. Yeah dudes got fancy Omega’s and more for engagement watch’s but I have a Movado. Its a good memory

A Michael Kors fashion watch. My then-girlfriend now-wife gave it to me for my birthday years ago. At the time we were dead broke, living in a studio apartment in the city, both trying to figure our lives out. She knew I was into watches (but didn’t have any yet) and she didn’t know a single thing about them but saw this while out shopping and thought it would look nice on me. At the time this cost a lot of money to us, I still have no idea how she was able to afford it. I wear it every time we dress up even with some much nicer “real” watches in my collection now.

For me, it’s an Oris TT1 Divers Titan. I bout this watch 16 years ago after my daughter was born. I was a paramedic at the time, and wanted something durable to wear on the ambulance. This watch got beat to hell over the next eight years that I was a medic, until I went back to school and switched careers.

I finally sent it in for service and restoration last year, as I didn’t want the (literal and figurative) battle scars it carried anymore. Unfortunately, they couldn’t source the original bezel (which had larger numbers, but the rest is like new. The bezel is from a subsequent release of this watch.

Seiko SNK805 on a Bond NATO was my first mechanical watch and the one I wore on a solo trip to Washington DC. Not expensive but special to me.

Funnily enough, my most sentimental watch is one that I got recently. My parents bought me a Seiko SSK GMT when we were on vacation celebrating my graduation from college. It’s the watch that I wear almost every day and it reminds me of how hard I worked to graduate and that my parents support me in life.
