Morning all,
I recently finished a lengthy engineering course in the military and decided I wanted to mark the occasion with a watch (any excuse).
I have had a look myself but have seen some great reccomendations by people far more knowledgeable than I am in this sub in the past, so thought I would ask!
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a military heritage/tactical watch, an I would definitely prefer something analogue but wouldn’t rule out anything, the budget would be around the £1000 mark. I would like to wear the watch to work so something somewhat durable, but my days on the tools are definitely over so it wouldn’t be getting absolutely beaten up.
Any help would be appreciated!
Stay safe
Christopher Ward Sandhurst would be my pick.
I like the Sandhurst but I’m an other rank so have never been to Sandhurst so it wouldn’t quite feel right if you get me, great looking watch though!
Something by Sinn? You’d have to go used…
Marathon comes to mind.
Perfect option imo
Yes I was about to say Marathon too
Bulova Classic 98A255 Hack
Studio Underd0g are about to release their [02series field watches](https://underd0g.com/pages/02SERIES field watch collection). I would buy the Pink Lem0nade in a heart beat if I was looking for a unique field watch
CWC SBS diver
congrats man i’m at the start of an engineering apprenticeship but honestly marathon or sinn possibly if you can find something on the used market
Cheers, engineering studies definitely become a slog but so worth it in the long run! Yeah I’ve had a quick look at sinn, definitely tick alot of the boxes.
Stick it in the middle of a list of MT fluids and hope they just order it all!
Great method!
Old school military watches ; Kuoe Kyoto.
Protektor makes tritium lume modern tactical watch’s for the military, if you want something more modern. Otherwise, Hamilton Khaki of some sort.
Is protektor the manufacturer? Can’t find anything online other than something made uzi called a protector?
I’d look at field watches - Hamilton Khaki Field and Seiko Alpinist are good options, as is the Bulova Hack for something under £500.
You need a Smiths 29A by Timefactors, UK.
That’s really smart actually, nice strap too.
Thank you. Timefactors have the right to use the Smiths name. Direct successors of the famed british military watches in the late sixties/seventies. Cheers!
Sangin instruments - created by a US marine spec ops and loved by that community. Tricky to find but doable, I’ve tracked down five of em.
Inox
Elliot Brown Holton Professional (has an actual NSN so you could, in theory, get one through the system) or their Beachmaster if you fancy a unique mission timer complication.
In reality my QM would have kittens 😂
