Most of them doesn’t even look that good like Rolex
Funny how 99% of the public thinks Rolex is the “gold standard” of watches (no pun intended).
If 99 percent think that, Rolex must be doing one hell of a job.
Am nerd with too much money
Either a vain display of excess wealth or a personal commemoration of hard-earned success, possibly as a patrimonial keepsake for the next generation, the same way a grandmother might pass down her diamond ring. There’s both good and bad reasons I think
Can I get an “amen”
To impress randoms on the internet of course!
It’s almost as if different people have different opinions… 🤯
People have too much time on their hands.
Is this guy saying Rolex look good or bad? I’m confused
They look bad for their price I think u can find better looking watches at that price
Oh yeah definitely. The appeal of Rolex though is that they are not offensive designs. That also makes them look pretty boring though.
9/10 customers do it for status, usually because of a name brand and bling. 1/10 do it to gasp at little mechanical marvels.
• Not a personal criticism • quotes on things:
What keeps the so-called consumer society going is the fact that trying to find yourself through things doesn’t work. The ego satisfaction is short-lived and so you keep looking for more and keep buying and consuming.” — Eckhart Tolle
“In many cases you are not buying a product but an “identity enhancer.” Designer labels are primarily collective identities that you buy into. They are expensive and therefore “exclusive.” If everybody could buy them, they would lose their psychological value and all you would be left with would be their material value, which likely amounts to a fraction of what you paid.”
Hell yeah brother stick it to em
I thought this was the other watch sub at first
I’m going to leave this here. I don’t want to be a Rolex fanboy but this article explains some of the differences in Rolex watches and why they are so expensive. Yes marketing is also a factor.

The information about the steel is incorrect though, 904L is softer than 316L. If they got that wrong I’m not putting much stock in the next 9 points.
Apparently watch enthusiasts aren’t metallurgists
Watch enthusiasts talking about build quality and then not knowing much additional engineering sounds like gem enthusiasts not knowing chemistry.
Less surprising than one would expect, but certainly disappointing.
You sound like a jealous broke boy. Maybe if you spent less time playing video games you might get a better paying job.
