Mine have to be Tarte and Elf

Tarte just didn’t work out for me I used to love Elf, but recently it’s just not been that great.

Charlotte Tilbury – I don’t hate them, there’s a couple of things I do like, but I’m gonna keep saying it: 90’s grandmother’s living room packaging. Most of it is cheap and not worth the price, including the actual formula.

Rare Beauty – Same thing with the look of the packaging, except most of the things I’ve tried I didn’t like.

Pat McGrath – She’s never put out a color story I was interested in with her bigger palettes, except the B&W one I ultimately passed on thankfully – I tried one of her quads and it put me off for good. Again I’ve not tried them, but her “special shades” everyone loves can be found through indie brands, where I don’t have to buy an entire pink palette to get them. Also tried her blush, and the coolest color was too warm for me, and the formula just seemed mid.

Colourpop – I think their popularity has fell off due to how often they release similar looking palettes, but as the most popular affordable brand they still have a decent following. Nothing they’ve released in the last 2+ years has really wowed me, and the couple of things I did pick up were not good. Bought two quads and one broke the first time I opened it, while the formulas were patchy. Stone Cold Fox was not made well, I just think it’s hyped because at the time there was so few cool toned palettes. I don’t care for any of the lip products I’ve tried at all. The mechanical eyeliners dry up and crumble fairly quickly. The only thing I still like is their Supershocks.

      I agree with these.

I only own 1 thing from Charlotte Tilbury because I can’t deny she knows how to make a glowy product but for the amount u pay it’s insane how bad the packaging is.

Rare beauty - other than Selena gomez & her pick me vibes, her products are affordable but it’s not that good. It’s drugstore formula and some packaging are so fragile. It’s rare to see an intact highlighter powder.

Pat m - after that sticker drama on that star wars palette I see the true colors of that brand. I’ve tried a bunch of things and nothing I’d repurchase.

Colourpop - fast fashion products. Dusty and crusty.

Ik Rare Beauty did not hire a product designer for the packaging design because it looks like someone’s grandma came up with it.

the important thing with pat mcgrath is you can’t get the best colors she makes anywhere else- not at that quality. the reason the quads didn’t impress is because they are actually manufactured differently. the mothership palettes are an entire separate process and they are by far the best formula on the market.
