I think Chinese homage watches have their place especially when needing to decide between 2 high-dollar watches and when buying both is financially out of reach. I’d buy the 2 watches from Pagani Design and wear them and see which one I gravitate toward over time and use that experience to purchase the real thing.

But some of y’all wear Tudor right? Isn’t that just a homage to Rolex. And you guys pay big money for that?

Not a watch guy… yet. Learning about them

I was on the “just buy a Rolex” train if you’re considering Tudor but after reading more into it, Rolex has brand recognition which is usually a good thing but it can also be a bad thing:

Some comments I’ve seen here are “try asking for a raise in a Rolex” or “If I see someone wearing a Rolex, idk if they’re really into watches or just wants to tick the “bought a Rolex” off the life goals list.”

Wearing a Tudor, sure, youre probably gonna get the “it’s not a Rolex” write off from the lay person but to watch folks, theyll likely know that you know exactly what you’re wearing. Almost like a secret handshake

Tudor = $3,000 ; Chinese homages = same shape, different guts, few cosmetic tweaks, & $200.
