A few years ago I consumed a lot (ok not that much, but I was a regular watcher of a few Youtubers) of makeup related content and learned from it. Nowadays I feel like everyone is just repeating their existing videos. Everything is done and old so I stopped watching maybe over a year ago.
Is it me personally or is beauty YT still as big as it was in let’s say 2017?
I’ve been a beauty YT creator since 2010, and I once looooooved the videos and community so much that it was my passion. Now, I only love the community. Videos are now too focused on new products and reviews and it bores me to tears. There’s no creativity or excitement about makeup looks or creating art, sharing fun, etc. Every video feels like an ad.
This is why I mostly stopped watching them too. I still watch the odd GRWM from my favourites, and make a point to watch any more creative ones or things like palette bingos if they post them, because I know they get less views for the most part, and I would like to see more of that kind of stuff vs endless new new new
