Hi,

Looking at getting myself a new watch. I use a Garmin Instinct currently for everyday life and flying, but would like my next watch to be dressy as well as useful in the cockpit. I realize the answer to this is one of Garmin’s own flight watches, however I’m wanting to keep it analog.

I understand E6B watch bezels are not too useful. Tachymeter watches also don’t seem popular.

What about compass bezel watches with 0-360° headings? Does anyone find it useful to bug a heading on these? Perhaps you bugged a runway heading on the plane but want to bug a crosswind as well?

How about chronograph watches with timer/stopwatch?

Seems like there are a lot of options out there. I’m really just trying to find a battery-less option (Citizen Eco-Drive, most likely), preferably with sapphire crystal that has useful cockpit features. Preferred $500 max.

I’ve never found any complication that’s really useful in the cockpit. Fliegers are nice because they’re just big and easy to read, but they’re not dressy at all. You’re kind of in mutually-exclusive territory.
