I was putting on my foundation today and I remembered a tip from CosmoGirl (was Cosmo for teens, doesn’t exist anymore) magazine circa 2003ish: just don’t put foundation on your forehead, to avoid a “mask like look”. Do the whole rest of your face, and not the forehead. And the foundation they had as an example was full coverage.

What are your examples of wacky makeup tips (including real retro ones!)

A clothing iron to flat iron your hair. My friend had super curly hair and she used to do this, tip her head on the ironing board and go. It worked, very well but she also burnt herself enough that I had no interest in attempting it myself.

Don’t shake make up/ nail polish to mix it if UT separates, smack it in your hand a bit and roll the bottle to mix. Do I still do this in my mid 30s-yes, why I don’t know lol
