Torn. Looking to add my first green dial watch. Leaning Breitling, but man the Oris is nice with the in-house movement. Which one would you pick?

Breitling Navitimer: 41mm on leather strap running on the COSC Calibre 17 (modified ETA-2824)

Oris Aquis: 41.5mm on bracelet running on the in-house Calibre 400

If I’m forced to choose between these two (And I’m presuming “same-ish” price), I probably end up with the Breitling because of my weak heart, but my head would be screaming “Oris” the entire time.

I love the movement in the Oris, but tend not to like proprietary lug fittings (and don’t need that much water resistance or an overt diving bezel). The Breitling generally has beautiful case finishing, but a 2824 at that price (for me) is a bit of a letdown.

I suspect that is why you are getting a lot of “maybe the other” answers here. Here’s a shot of the Breitling B09 Pistachio as well as some Oris movement shots to make this more interesting. I do think the Pistachio is a fair bit higher in price (and a manual wind).

Good comments and great pictures. Thanks! The movement is what has me hesitant on the Breitling and another diver has me hesitant on the Oris. Budget is less than $4k, so it’s difficult to get into the better movements.
