I am sick and tired of not wearing makeup because I ride a motorcycle and my helmet always smudges it off. Whats the most durable makeup i can get? Looking for mascara, eyeliner, even eyeshadow if possible. Or any tips to make it smudgeproof?

Sometimes, application technique plays a role in makeup longevity.

I don’t ride, but my pencil eyeliner did used to smudge off just through daily wear. I saw a YouTuber press and roll her setting powder on and since I tried that technique, my eyeliner has stayed significantly longer. I also use primer daily and setting spray occasionally (depending on weather or for events).

Also, applying a cream or liquid eyeshadow under usual eyeshadow helped it stay longer (also intensified color of powder eyeshadow); I could imagine putting concealer on eyelid might have the same effect, but I haven’t tried it. When doing this, I let the liquid or cream eyeshadow “dry” a little bit before applying powder eyeshadow.

I lightly tap on a liquid or cream eyeshadow (usually in a lighter color) for the whole eyelid up to the just under the eyebrow (aka, the brow bone), then lightly feather pencil my eyes (I tightline), apply powder eyeshadows, then lightly line again if needed, touch up my eyebrows. then press and roll on loose translucent setting powder over the eyelid, curl my lashes, then press and roll setting powder under the eye. If the occasion calls for it, after all face is done, I use a setting spray.

Product wise, I love Laura Mercier’s primers, concealers, and setting or blurring powder along with Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliners, eyeshadows, and setting spray.

    Hope this helps 🥰😇
