Keeping inventory drains money and is a risk. If you order 500 keybards at 500 USD and only sell 300 of them you have not only storage space occupied that takes away from potential other merchandise you can sell but you are also at a net loss now. You need to have a certain turn around rate to keep the lights on. You also have invested a lot of money and dont get it back if you bought too much and now you are in the red. So if too much sits in your inventory and does not get sold you need to get rid of it cheaper to recoup at least some loss. Thats why sales exist.

The problem with the kb market is that depending on how specific an item is it might not be economically viable to keep it in inventory. How many people want that specific cap set with the extension kit for language x? maybe 10 worldwide? maybe 0 actually.

So you have no other choice than GB. Lack of inventory costs / risk is also why GBs are cheaper. But then of course come the wait times.
