Be careful with your cats on the desk especially if you live in an area where it gets cold in the winter. Humidity levels drop and furry friends turn into static charges on 4 legs. My cat actually fried a displayport a few years ago. She was rubbing up against me then touched the cables going back into the gpu, my screen flickered but seemed to work fine. My monitor would no longer go to sleep and flickered occasionally. I had to switch cables and luckily it didn’t damage the outputs. Now I make sure I run a humidifier to keep it 50%
