I really like the look of Jordan 1 mids but have heard that the quality is a huge step down from the low and high jordans, is this true?

100% true, mids are trash and are just a bait and switch scheme for Nike to stop making more OG shoes and make garbage instead.

They’re similar in quality to the non-OG 1 lows. I have a few pairs of mids that I really like that I wear to the gym.

Quality on mids is on the same level as non SB Dunks or non OG Lows, yet people still continue to buy those. They’re perfectly fine for what they are, not everyone wants to wear highs or lows all the time. I have many mids along with highs and lows, there are some unique colorways that don’t come in either which I appreciate. The hate comes from purists or hypebeasts so they downplay mids for various reasons. I just buy what I want to wear, and I wear what I buy.

    Yes. It is lower.

But not by the amount people like to make out it is.

Its like highs are super high quality, premium shoes.

If highs are a 6/10 for quality, then mids are about a 5, with some of the crafts being a 5.5.

I haven’t had any quality control issues like I have with my highs, but the materials are very noticeably worse. Feels like thin plastic instead of leather

Mids aren’t total garbage as some like to say on here.

But they are definitely a step down in quality from the highs, and OG lows.

95% of mids are of lower quality, however there are high quality pairs out there that are on par with highs .

Think the Equality or Blue the Great fearless 1s.

It depends which ones you get can be worse or better. The materials on my facetasms are much better quality than most of the high releases.

The quality of the leather is on Mids is noticeably worse than Highs. This is true. They are still fine sneakers that look great on feet and I’ve honestly found them to be some of the most comfortable.

I have two pair of mids and they are my most frequently worn shoes. They allow me to get that classic AJ1 look with 0 anxiety about getting the shoes dirty or wearing them out because I can replace them for $100 bucks.

Also, for what it’s worth, sneaker heads are the only people who will even notice the difference. 95% of people will have no idea.

If you like it, just wear it. I prefer the shorter height of the mid over the high og. But if you want a high quality shoe with good materials and the same mid height that is more comfortable than both of those…I suggest looking at Air Ships. I prefer them over J1s and the polyurethane insole is great.
