I think this compares quite well to people who enjoy HHKB. Everything is subjective in this world, especially sound in a world of mech keyboards. Sure hhkb doesn’t sound good, but feels amazing to use. Wooting has very smooth switches that don’t sound good. You pay for the features, not the sound.

(I wanted to mention that I had a 60he and sold it because I don’t really play competitively so it didn’t benefit me as much. Also I have nothing against the hhkb)

i like how the wooting 60he stock and hhkb stock sound. what’s an example of a “good” sounding keyboard?

Well, again, it’s all subjective. There’s no single keyboard that will sound good with anything - different combinations of switches, case and plate materials, foam, will all yield different results. From what I’ve tried - Akko’s mod 007pc and spr67 sound amazing with gateron inks and ws heavy tactiles, but I’ve also put Akko starfish switches in them and didn’t like the sound at all.

too much lube and a high-pitched ping. kinda nauseating imo. thanks for the link though.

oh wow I definitely prefer how these vintage boards/switches sound, especially the alps 👀. i don’t think i want to know how much they cost.

White and Orange Alps are not rare. Blue alps on the other hand… Scorpius dome with slider are quite common, and the IBM Model M is still sold to this very day brand new.
