I would call it a “beater” because I don’t have the budget to call a $10,000 watch that, but I’m wearing my 36mm Rolex Datejust pretty much all situations. The size and comfort make it an easy choice, even when tinkering under the hood. Even though they are viewed differently today, Rolex originally designed and advertised datejusts as “big and tough” sporty watches that are also at home in more formal settings. That’s how I wear mine.
