Walking through Soho recently, I noticed the Onitsuka Tiger store was closed down. It hit me hard because I’ve really come to love their shoes—they’re the perfect combo of comfort and style, and I just can’t get enough of them.

To make things worse, a friend of a friend who works in corporate there mentioned that Onitsuka Tiger might be closing down their entire US operations. I tried to find some information online but came up short. I’m hoping it’s just a rumor because it would be a huge loss.

However, they haven’t updated their Instagram since mid October.

Does anyone have the scoop on this? Any bit of news would be helpful. Fingers crossed that we’re not losing this brand here.

I’m trying to get more info on this too. Luckily, I just ordered a new pair on Nov. 28th. There was no indication on their site that this was going to happen. I went on the next day to check the order status and saw that they were closing online sales. I came across the store in Soho about 10 years ago and absolutely fell in love with this brand. I have over a dozen pairs and would buy a pair when I would visit NYC once a year. Now, finding out that the NYC store is closed just crushed me.

I know the Mexico 66 has gotten very popular over the summer, so I’m guessing they can’t keep up with demand
