I’ve been a diehard Revlon Colorstay gal forever but late 40’s now and it’s starting to wear cakey on me. I apply with a wet beauty blender and am diligent about moisturizer and exfoliating. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help or another drugstore foundation that might be better?

    “Favorite foundation looks cakey anymore”

maybe try r/30PlusSkinCare. Unsure if this sub will help with makeup.

i have never used this foundation, but i wonder if your skincare routine has changed. I think some questions i ask to beauty advisor at sephora or a department store.

your makeup has changed, now, (not “anymore”)

Has your skintype changed? Is your skincare routine the same as it was when you started using Colorstay?

For a change, maybe check out L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation. It’s got that dewy finish and plays well with mature skin.
About the dry skin version of Revlon Colorstay – yes, the shades playing hide and seek can be annoying. Have you considered mixing? Like, blend your current shade with the one from the dry skin formula? Might just be the magic combo you’re looking for.

You may need to alter your skin care routine or perhaps try another foundation. As we age our skin changes. I have had a similar experience with my favorite foundation. I experimented with skin care changes and am now back to normal. Also, remember your skin is very different in winter. Usually more dry.
