I need to wear a little bit of make up to polish my aging face. There are so many new makeup terms and applications that I’ve learned from my daughter that I don’t know what to wear. I don’t want to pay someone at Sephora for a makeover. The chaos of that place drives me crazy. Macy’s? Any advice? Thank you

there are lots of MUAs who do tutorials specifically for mature skin, you could watch a few of those to get an idea of what you might want to do. most of them recommend hydrating products, very light use of any powders, and not applying product with a light hand as to avoid cakiness.

start super simple. I give this advice to a lot of people who want to start wearing makeup; buy maybe 5 products (I recommend concealer, blush, mascara, lipstick, and brow pencil - your daughter could probably give you advice with what basics you should get) and learn how to use them well before you add anything else. my biggest mistake as a beginner was trying to run before I could walk and do things like elaborate eyeliner when I didn’t even own mascara.
