For example, expensive mascara, foundation, etc…is it worth it to buy as a gift or will I be better off giving something else that may last a long time? I have no idea about make-up.

Context: I am a med-student so these things will be bought out of my personal savings which aren’t a lot.

Also, what are your thoughts on makeup products from MAC and Huda Beauty? I was eyeing a long lasting mascara to buy for my partner from either MAC or Huda Beauty but I can get something else like clothes for her in the same price…

For a woman that holds make-up in high regard and considers it important to exist before leaving the house, yes, buying her a MAC mascara and lipstick as a duo is gold.

As I can’t relate to the type of person described above, an expensive item that is under the make-up umbrella is a perfume. I personally consider it a cliche but good gift. Dior and Lancome are great brands you can go for duration-wise.

Hope she likes whatever you end up picking for her!

Also what I forgot to mention in the post, she’s the type of person who would never ask me directly for anything, and if I go shopping for her she wouldn’t speak a word and I’ll have to choose so it would be way more thoughtful and better if I do the shopping for her

I did get a perfume for her, I wanted to get either dior poison or herrera’s good girl but since I had a limited budget and wanted to get other stuff for her too, I bought Herrera’s 212 sexy instead. What are your thoughts on 212 sexy?

I have a pretty good collection of men’s cologne and I never go out without wearing one (bleu de chanel, hermes h24, paco rabanne invictus, u name it) and she has loved that since the start. She only had one perfume (Victoria’s secret bombshell) so I wanted to get her something special and maybe we could explore fragrances together or something. But idk much about women’s fragrances

Whats your input on that? Compared to Victorias secret bombshell, and other perfumes like dior poison, carolina herrera good girl…where would you put 212 sexy? If you’ve tried it at least.

The only opinions I can give on perfumes are about Dior’s Miss Rose N’Roses and Lancome’s Idole, the former being super classy and feminine, the latter lasting on clothes even after being washed! I’m guessing your choice will be good as well as I haven’t smelled it ever.

Yeah, I suggested that duo because most women do use these basics, happy to know it applies on her, too.

At the end of the day, it’s more about the gesture rather than the content! I’m very positive she’ll like the gift!
