I’m not a sneaker enthusiast, I wear shoes because I have to but from time to time I like purchasing a “”cooler”” pair of shoes if I like them and they aren’t too expensive. I recently purchased a pair of Nike Dunk PANDA High, despite people hating on them (couldn’t care less, I like them) and was curious WHY they were hated, people argue that they’re too common and their quality is bad (which it is without a doubt, but we’re talking about Nike after all…) the most mind boggling thing is that the same people that hate on Panda’s wear all white AF1…
For anyone interested this is a list of the shoes I bought the last couple years: Nike Court Vision Low (White) Adidas Forum 84 Low (Royal Blue, way better quality than expected, my favourite but I destroyed them) High Converse (forced by my gf but i’ve grown to like them) Nike Dunk High Panda
Using an AF1 is a bad example tbh, both have shit examples but AF1s are universally better than dunks out the box. Air units, more comfortable, and truly wearable with anything.
Dunk highs are cool or whatever, as are most shoes anyone has gripes about. It’s the price point. Regular dunk lows or highs are the same price as Air Force 1s, feature no air units, and crease terribly in a week.
Highs are even worse after they’re broken in, the mid cap squishes like the Jordan 1 Zooms and start to look like deformed alien shoes. Are they ugly? No. They look great, just not for very long. Air forces can be regularly had for $60-70 bucks.
Imo no shoe is really “hated” there are just better options for what you’re paying.
