Jeff Bezos helps fund 10,000 year clock to outlast humanity - I thought this was a really cool story about an interesting subject to me. The project touches on some of the things that are at the heart of why I think watches are interesting, and it makes sense to buy a mechanical watch even when I can buy something that tells more accurate time today for a fraction of the price.

I obviously don’t think any watch I own will be around in 10k years, but thinking it will be something to cherish and hand to future generations gives me a feeling of being a part of something greater than my own personal instant gratification.
