As we head into winter I recognize that I have a bunch of sneakers that I primarily wear during the warm weather and will certainly not wear in the cold rainy winter. That said, a sneaker cleaning store recently opened near my home and I was thinking of dropping off a few pairs to be cleaned. Having never really done any extensive cleaning myself (simply maintaining my sneakers with sneaker wipes after going out for the night kinda of thing) I’m curious to hear about others experiences with professional style sneaker cleaning businesses.

Do you think it was fairly priced? Do you think the service and cleaning was worth it? Would you recommend using them again or more often than you previously would’ve considered?

I’ll say for the place near me it looks like they’re charging something like $7 per sneaker set (might be a promo for new business) and I think they have some more discounts as you bring in more pairs. I’m more or less looking at this place like it’s just a dry cleaner but they do shoes instead of clothes.

I guess this is a weird post but I’d be curious to hear other input on using these services and/or recommendations for at home deep cleaning sneakers.

(Additional reference, I’d be dropping off mostly Jordan 2s 3s and some Kyries and maybe an adidas)

I’d pay the $7 once just to try it out. Wish there was a place like this near me…
