I found an older MAC lipstick. Smelled like typical vanilla MAC lipstick so I applied it and noticed it was bad because the texture was so smeary and the color looked weird (even though the lipstick itself looked fine). My lips were not hurt from that.

I used a Maybelline mascara for over 1 year and my eyes are still ok.

I used Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation that has been opened since 2018 (after a break of 4 years). It applied fine, smelled like typical EL DW foundation and the texture was also fine.

I only toss a makeup product if it smells unusual, its texture has changed or if I feel my skin reacts weird after application.

If you store your makeup in a dark, dry and non heated place then you can enjoy it longer than you think. Clean beauty expires sooner though, I heard.

You can use clean tools to take makeup and put it on a mixing palette and then apply it on your face. This ensures a hygienic use.

I also use concealer. But I don’t cover my whole face with it. I leave out the nose down to my chin area because I sweat alot there and I don’t want those areas to look like I have reptile skin.
