It is ‘fine’ if you highlight to your client that you are sanitizing your hands so they can see for themselves. But best practice is to use your tools - it is what makes you stand out as a professional and all steps you take to ensure safety for your client will have a positive impact.

How did she prep her tools and then clean her tools/ products after? Liquid /potted products should be squashed on to a palette… not on the back of a hand. Liners/lipsticks should ALWAYS be sprayed with Alcohol / wiped or sharpened (pencil) then sprayed again. Especially if using a sharpener. And sharpener MUST be cleaned before use. It’s the ‘dip, sharpen, dip’ rule. Also- all of this should be done in front of the client. Mascara- *if used directly from applicator and tube then it goes to client afterwards so there isn’t any mistakes of cross contamination between clients. This is gross. Watch how the artist sets up- how clean their kit is, and how they pack up. A true professional would NEVER have you questioning your health after a trial.
