  • Makeup isn’t something your required to wear, so there’s no need to feel "lazy " about it. It’s extra. It’s supposed to be enjoyable.

I’m new to makeup and I enjoy it, but I only wear it maybe once or twice a month. It doesn’t matter for my lifestyle, and I don’t feel like I’m ugly or underdressed without it. It’s a fun little creative outlet for me on a lazy friday night in, when I get to play around with new colors and textures and get creative with decorating my face. It’s a hobby, and nothing more to me.

That said, sometimes our hobbies just get boring for us, or we have other stressors in life that interrupt our enjoyment of them. Or sometimes it can feel overwhelming to even get started (which I can relate to a lot- when I was still learning to use makeup, every time felt like a whole production of steps and mistakes and corrections for just a basic everyday look). This stuck out to me from your post: “But when I see other people looks I think I wanna do nice looks but I dont know why I dont do that.” - Have you thought really deeply about this? Have you asked yourself why you even want to recreate these looks? Or have you given a lot of thought as to why you haven’t tried to, or felt inclined to try? There could be a lot of reasons, but these feelings might hint at something deeper than just makeup.

It’s okay to be “lazy” with makeup and okay to not wear it or to lose some interest in it. It’s really not important in the grand scheme of things, even if it is useful and fun, and there’s no requirement to wear it on any occasion at all. But I think if you’re feeling uninspired or unmotivated to use it often, and it doesn’t really serve you (as a confidence booster, a creative outlet, or whatever else) as it used to, it’s worth investigating why.
