If you are getting quartz watch (first Seiko, it needs batteries) you shouldn’t go wrong with any. You won’t have to maintain as automatic (second Seiko, it works without battery powering up by wearing it, it has mechanism inside and doesn’t require electricity). Mechanical watches ofc will be tended to from time to time. If you want to get your bf into watches - het him automatic mechanical as your second choice:).
