I am morbidly obese. I have tried losing weight for over 20 years, and the doctors just say “eat less, excercise more”. I’m 43 that has occured to me, thanks. No matter how hard I work at it, I lose 20 lbs, and then start gaining it back even if nothing has changed. Or even if I reduce my calorie intake again. Or increase my exercise. Its too the point that whenever I look in the mirror I just see a ft cw of a person. I never really learned to do makeup when I was younger, and Idk how to really learn now. Ive been told by friends to just watch some YouTube videos & experiment. When I do, I just see a ft cw with make-up on. Somethings are okay look wise, somethings are, “Oh dear, that’s a no”, but nothing is ever, “hey, I like this”. How do I figure out something that works for me?

(And yes, I know I need therepy- working on it- just trying to work on things I can control right now.).

Start one thing at a time. Maybe try to find lip colors you like and match you and make you feel good about yourself. Once you have found that, move on to blushes or eyeliner. Then maybe bronzer or eyeshadow. Try to build your makeup skills one thing at a time and once you feel good about yourself.

Since you mentioned weight, are you Type 2 Diabetic or even pre-diabetic? I was in your position and weighed 297 pounds. I am T2 D so I qualified for a prescription of Mounjaro. It is one of those GLP 1 meds. You’ve probably heard of Ozempic? It is similar to that but Mounjaro is reportedly more effective. Here is a link to the Reddit sub on Mounjaro (MJ).

I’ve lost 59 pounds to date, and have blown my budget on makeup. I am feeling so much more confident, beautiful. I hate going without my makeup now. All the suggestions for how to apply makeup are good ones. You should try them all. But reading between the lines, I see you. And thought this information might help you.
