i’m looking for a… primer, concealer, foundation, setting spray / powder that is suitable for dry skin / ezcema prone skin also any tips is appreciated!
I have extremely dry skin from medical issues and meds. I can’t recommend Vanicream in the pump tub highly enough!! Apply very night and lay it on THICK, including around eyes and on lips. It will feel like you’re layering on thick body butter lotion and you’ll think you did too much, but it soaks in quickly! It’s a cheap drug store brand and it’s the super neutral base lotion that compounding pharmacies use for mixing prescription creams, so almost no one will react to it. It’s what my derm recommends for people on Retin A and/or accutane.
The other thing I changed was getting facials regularly. I get a light peel as part of it and I’ve found that makes me peel a LOT less the rest of the time!
As for makeup prep, I bought clean spoolies that I use to gently rub around my dry areas to exfoliate any active skin flakes. Then apply a little Vanicream or mineral SPF, let it sit and soak in while I do my hair or have a snack, then come back 10-15 min later and apply Fenty primer and my foundation (Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder). For extra dewy skin, I’ll add a pump of Rhode skin glaze (hate that I love that stuff as much as I do) over the foundation or mix with foundation. Glossier Futuredew is another great one for adding that dewy glow that prevents you from seeing dryness. I avoid powders as much as possible!!
Getting my skincare routine down to a science (by seeing an esthetician and using iSClinical Pro Heal serum + Vanicream + facials every 5 weeks) made it so my skin barrier healed, my dry skin got a lot less dry, and my skin totally cleared up, and I needed a LOT less face makeup.
I have dry skin so I use a lot of dewy, serum type products.
I exfoliate first with Clinique Clarifying Toner, the one for dry to very dry skin. Then moisturizer, Embryolisse pump, the fluid one. Then sunscreen, Skin1004 sun serum. Then for primer, Tatcha silk canvas, best thing I’ve tried for pores… and I’ve tried lots. Then I use the Saie Glowy Gel, gives more hydration. Then foundation, I like sheer ones so I use the Mac Radiant Face and Body foundation. Then for setting powder, I kinda back and forth between Essence Brighten Up and Hourglass finishing powder. Then for spray, I use the Urband Decay All Nighter Extra Glow. :)
I have insanely dry skin from a medication I’m on. I’ve spent so much money trying to find the right primer and the one that finally worked for me is a cheap one - ELF putty primer. They better never discontinue it.
bobbi brown vitamin enriched face base is really a life changer for dry and dehydrated skin who want to use matte foundations
my chin has been peeling and just looks so bad when i wear my favorite matte or satin foundations and this base is the only thing that will make my skin look smooth and normal. I only use it on my dry areas because i have combo oily skin. It really changed my foundation game and I now cannot use any mattifying base products without it. its worth every penny

My friend has dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin. She uses:
-
Primer: Elf Power Grip
-
Concealer: Nyx Bare With Me
-
Setting Spray: Milani Make It Last
-
Powder: Elf HD Loose Powder
-
Foundation: Clinique - She liked and used it for a long time, but she quit a month or two ago because she didn’t have a great match in their range.
what color power grip does she use?
