So I never was professionally typed, but many people in my life told me that I have a cool undertone, I also feel the most comfortable and confident in cool colors. I am also quite pale (I got a foundation from MAC which the MUA helped me to select and it‘s the studio radiance face and body sheer foundation C0), I burn easily and have blue eyes and dark blonde hair.

Now to my question, many nude lipsticks look almost sickly grey on me, one that really makes me sad is the mac velvet teddy which looks like a dark brown grey on me. What am I doing wrong? Is it because the lipsrick has warm undertones? Also which lipsticks might work better?

Thanks so much!

I’d make sure you were colour matched correctly, looking at your veins and seeing if they are blue or green is a good way of knowing if your cool or neutral. I thought I was cool toned but I’m actually neutral, really pale too and velvet teddy is dark brown on me too. Going for nude pinks have helped me find a good nude color but I love pinks. What’s the look you’re going for if you don’t mind me asking?

I see! Thanks so much. I would say I have blue veins and generally only silver or very very very pale gold looks good on me, so I would tend to say it might be cool…but I‘ll look into getting colortyping done by a professional.

I have MAC faux which works way better for the nude look. I want to try some low contrast looks with nude or light lipsticks. The thing is light lipsticks look terrible on me, everything with low contrast looks generally like I smeared vanilla icecream over my lips.
