Ok please this isn’t about insecurity or confidence!!! Those are things I DO need to work on of course, perhaps we all do. But I just mean - I do my hair and makeup and feel so content about my “work” lol and then when I go out I feel like I look like a sweaty loser clown? Everyone else looks snatched and hot and I’m disheveled? How do I look more put together? I think my lighting is fine but is there a lighting mirror device people recommend to help with this? Or something I’m not thinking of? I’m not great at makeup - but I’m decent? I feel like I’ve figured out which primer I like, what foundations last vs which make me shiny too fast, Im plugged into all the “right” tik tok algorithms and use products I like! I’m tired of stepping out and feeling bad and ugly. Maybe it’s just my face.

Rule of thumb I’ve learned a long time ago, always check your makeup in natural light. It will save you from any anxiety trust!

God, I feel this so much. It’s like I wrote it. I even took the flattering makeup lighting out of my bathroom so I could get a more real idea of what I’d look like at work, out on the town, etc.

It looks great when I leave but by the time I use the restroom at work I look like a hot mess. I’ve messed around with different primers and setting sprays/powders and they help but there must be something I can do to give my makeup more staying power. Following your post for tips!

It’s normal, a lot of people feel the same way, including myself. When I leave the house and have to use the bathroom at work, I look down to avoid all mirrors because I only get more self conscious when I see my reflection.

Not sure about your climate, but in Washington DC, all summer long my hair and face are impacted by the humidity. Hair especially. Haven’t found a solution except to wait until the season changes.
