Does it seem to be a lot of stock managers being laid off? I worked for vans for 8 years and on the stock team my last few years. I can’t imagine any store losing their stock team so close to holiday or at anytime. I loved working stock but just couldn’t work under the DM anymore. We would have 100+ cases stacked up in our stock room and little side room. Then receive another 100 the next day. DM comes in one day asking us why we have so many cases “no other store looks like this” my stock manager says do your other stores have off site? “Yes they do” he said then that’s your answer. They didn’t want to pay for our off site but also wouldn’t let us not receive shipment and complained when we didn’t clear everything. It was a mess at the end. Vans was great for a long time. At times I miss it and think of doing just seasonal but after hearing all this it makes me so sad. I’m sorry to everyone who was laid off

Pretty sure it’s how many hours you work. I was a floor sup and I was let go out of the three of us and the only difference between us is that I work the least. In fact the newest of the three has only been a floor sup for two months and I’ve been a floor sup since our store opened back in June. It’s a really strange way to pick someone to let go, especially without even asking the SMs about it. Looks like they’re really cutting some of the best employees and it’s breaking my heart.

the worst part about this is it’s twisted. by all reasons i should have been let go - i work the least and i am paid less. but they kept me, because it’s “cheaper” for them to do that. it depends on the store but it’s all these disgusting schemes that they specifically planned out. i basically got led into literally taking my co-managers position without knowing it until now.

I’m so sorry you got let go! But that sounds just about right when it comes to vans. Sometimes I feel like they truly don’t even think when making decisions. They seem to always pass up good employees for promotions and promote people who are maybe “loud” or use more “vans verbiage” 😂 I hope you got a decent severance or something to fall back on. Sending all the love and the good vibes to you.
