i was new to shoes back then. did not know much about anything at all, not even the most classic AJ1s

i went to a nike employee store and i saw this pair of Ben and Jerry Dunks on the “last size” shelf. i wondered to myself, who on earth would buy these cow shoes and i laughed at them with my friends.

6 months later after i had amassed some sneaker knowledge, i came across a vid showing the exact same pair of shoes that apparently were worth like 4 bands on the resale market. imagine my pain. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THEM FOR A DISCOUNT.

I’m so glad I just drew a line under J1s after buying my first pair. Don’t get me wrong, some designs are dope but they are not at all comfy for me and the hype just feeds on itself.

I am much more focused now on buying stuff that is a) comfortable; b) can be matched easily; and c) adds variety or something different to my rotation (I don’t want to end up with five pairs that are almost the exact same colourway, or ten variations of the same shoe).
