I agree it’s underrated in the sense that it should stand side by side with the Rolexes at its price point.

Sure, it doesn’t have the heritage or legacy that the Swiss brands do, but any watch that innovates a movement like that… oof

That certainly deserves more credit imo. Yet these are some of the easier high end ones to grab, if I’m not mistaken, as opposed to the exclusivity of Rolex

Yeah, the sweep seconds glide is insane on this. Spring Drive should get some more credit.

As good looking as the dial finishing is, I will always dislike the power reserve implementation, it just makes no sense to me the position and the arch orientation.

Not an underrated watch but as always, looks great on the wrist and a good choice.

Never quite vibed with the crown on these GS models but cool nonetheless.

It is pretty underrated in my circle and city, you get to see Rolex and Omega usually everywhere here, and most do not even know Grand Seiko.

Nah. Not underrated at all. Don’t try to sound profound. Rather, it is “correctly” rated everywhere.

I wouldn’t call the Shunbun underrated. its the watch that even the most vehement grand Seiko haters admit is still fucking beautiful

They probably look amazing in person, but I always have a hard time for textured dials even though I love the idea

Maybe underrated in terms of quality and total sales in comparison to equivalent watches which are highly sought after by the general public such as Rolex and Omega, but certainly not underated by r/watches standards

You don’t really get to see them in the wild, ever. Even though I think they are good enough to stand with base Rolex and Omega models.
