When I was younger and more combo/oily powder foundation was easy.

Since my skin has turned drier with age I swear by a good tinted moisturizer. I can apply it with clean hands and don’t need to fool around with a brush or sponge. I’ve also switched to cream blush I can tap on and then blend out with my fingers. If it’s going to be a long day or particularly humid I do set with a little powder.

I never got used to using liquid products because I would always want to set it in the end anyways. My go to now is a lot of skin prep and some powder foundation in the center of my face that’s well worked into the skin. Powder foundations is also by far the easiest product to carry with you for touching up throughout the day. I’ve tried to bring a concealer with me for reapplication and it really can be a nightmare and get all over and cling to anything it touches. I think some people don’t give powder foundation a good enough chance because they don’t spend enough time doing the proper skin prep beforehand.

I use powder these days, on rare occasion partnering it with tinted moisturizer. No liquid foundation ever seems to match for me (or will only match for me in one kind of lighting and look crazy in all other lighting situations), and powder is just more forgiving for me.
