I spilled detergent on my vans, specifically the thicker kind with a a sort of velvety texture to them. How should I get the detergent out of them. I’m afraid scrubbing with scrape of the color or texture. Is it cool to just throw them in the washing machine?

    I’d just soak em or dunk them in water a few times. Washing machine should be last resort and never put ‘em in the dryer.

    You can, but the canvas will come out warped. I can tell just by looking if someone has thrown their Vans in the machine.

    I have and I just don’t feel safe putting my shoes in the machine. But I have a top loader and not a side loader like a Laundromat
