Time to start looking for stocking stuffers. I think my 13 year old would like a few make up items to experiment with.

At the start of this school year, I asked if she wanted to try any make up and she said some highlighter and tinted lip balm so I got her a wet and wild stick highlighter and Burt’s bees lip balm. She’s used them some, especially the highlighter.

What would you get her for her stocking? Nothing very expensive because she might or might not like it and I don’t spend a ton on stocking stuffers. She thinks anything near her eyes is terrifying so no mascara or eyeliner. And she already has plenty of nail polish choices.

If it matters, she’s got blue eyes, caramel hair, and fairly pale skin.

Maybe some more lip options? Blush? A different highlighter so she can see if she prefers something else?

Laneige Lip Mask sets at TJ Maxx are a really fun self care option. Bubble makes some cute skincare items in fun packaging that’s actually really gentle. You can find gua sha and jade rollers at Dollar Tree along with some sheet masks. ELF’s monochromatic multi sticks are a really good choice for beginners; it’s a cream stick that can be used on eyes, cheeks, and lips. They are shimmery and nice, and depending on the shade, can be more neutral or more blush-like.

I LOVE ordering little things from Sephora. Right now their lip balm is like $3, and they have lip masks for $5. Sheet masks and things like that are cheap. I like to order from the site because they allow you to choose 2 samples and I love using them for gift bags.

You could make her a little handwritten book of things you wish you knew about self care at her age. I’m thinking something the size of those 3x5 notecards but cut in half.

My 13yo cousin loves the Burt’s Bees balms. Also, I hear Trader Joe’s has some exciting new lip products out now so if you have one near you, that could be a fun (and affordable) option! I plan on getting it for my cousin. Also, Bath and Body Works has some fun lip products too! My cousin also really loves the Laneige lip masks. I personally think they cost too much money for what they are, but fwiw, she does really like them.

My daughter also hated stuff near her eyes but we got her clear mascara and she loves it!

Other ideas - face masks, nail stickers, Elf glow reviver lip oil, little make up bag, cute compact mirror.

I would look for “eyeshadow sticks”, they have some cute ones at the drug store (elf makes some). She can pat them on her lid with a finger so she doesn’t have to poke around her eyes with brushes. I find they aren’t super pigmented so you don’t look crazy, but they add a little fun pop of colour or shimmer. There’s also some multi purpose sticks that you can use for blush, lips, eyeshadow that she could have fun with.

I’d get her some lip butter glosses from Nyx! Affordable and there’s a huge range of colors to choose from
