I use Maybelline Strobing Light stick, I rub a brush on the stick and apply it to my cheekbones, bridge of nose and tip of nose, very top of my cupids bow. I like a stick over a powder because it melds into my skin right away and looks more natural on me. If it’s a special occasion I’ll just apply a bit more of it, and I’ll add some under the arch of my brows and the inner corner of my eyes to amp up my eye makeup a bit. Basically the high points of the face that naturally catch light that you want to draw more attention to.

  • Just get it done by the professional, she’s offering to pay. They will do whatever you tell them. My friend who never wears makeup had hers done, they didn’t do foundation or anything she wasn’t interested in. Also they will have all the shades and colours of products and high quality stuff that hopefully won’t break you out. I’d imagine it would be costly to have to buy a bunch of that if you don’t have it already

  • I would look for “eyeshadow sticks”, they have some cute ones at the drug store (elf makes some). She can pat them on her lid with a finger so she doesn’t have to poke around her eyes with brushes. I find they aren’t super pigmented so you don’t look crazy, but they add a little fun pop of colour or shimmer. There’s also some multi purpose sticks that you can use for blush, lips, eyeshadow that she could have fun with.

  • I wear all drug store, I used to spend tons of money at Sephora and honestly I was disappointed a lot of the time. I hate the full face look now, I like that dewy “your skin but better” kind of look. Get a good primer (elf poreless primer), a concealer that matches your skin tone (I like nyx bare with me). Put some concealer on the back of your hand and use a small stippling brush to gently dab a tiny amount of concealer onto spots that bother you. This avoids having a full cake face of makeup, and only puts makeup where you want it. Grab a nice blush to add some colour to your face, you can get some translucent powder to gently “set” the areas you put concealer on. A brow gel is an easy way to add some fullness and shape to your brows. Grab some mascara (waterproof is good for a long night like a wedding). A nice lip gloss (I love the maybelline lifter gloss). You can get a matte setting spray to top everything off.

I have a desk with a big flat drawer that I have all my makeup in, mirror and a ring light kinda thing. It’s facing a window so the natural lighting is best for makeup but I end up doing it at 5am in the dark most days 🙄 I have to sit and be able to rest my arms on something, doing my makeup in the bathroom is torture lol. The drawer is the best I don’t have to dig through a bag it’s all laid out.
