Winged liner has been a staple for me since 12 years old, I’m 25 now and feel it just doesn’t look good anymore…
What’s something you outgrew that you miss?

There are quite a few winged eyeliner looks, from dramatic to subtle. Maybe you don’t have to outgrow it, just let it grow with you
I agree with this. I stopped wearing winged liner for about 10 years and now I’ve just started wearing it again! I like to use a wet eyeliner brush dipped into a dark eyeshadow now, rather than with a liquid liner like I used to. It still looks good and is a bit softer, feels more flattering for my features as they look now
Agreed.
I believe your tastes do change but I don’t believe one can “outgrow” a winged liner. It doesn’t have an age limit, there are so many variations and it’s also a classic.
I’ve recently switched from black to brown and sometimes I do a more smudged look with eyeshadow and a brush. I keep the overall shape I’ve done for 10+ years but I’ve changed the details to be slightly more natural and less pinup
OP said they have hooded eyes and I do too. It helps me to only put the liner on half my eyelid. If I put liner on the inner half of my eyelid it’s way too heavy
This is the position Im in. I moved from a thick liquid wing this year to a quick and subtle wing using an angle brush and black eyeshadow. Still gives that “scoop” but looks blended in with a lash.
I agree ! I have always been into the liquid eyeliner for my wings, matte and very black. I’ve recently switched to using a pencil then going over with eye shadow. I think it looks just as good if not better now.
