Hi I just got a Keychron v1 with Novel Creams and a jtk sora keycaps I was wondering if the Keychron v1 is a good purchase and if this was a good build (I have lubed every switch broke in the creams, lubed the stabs again, balanced the wires and replaced the silicone plate foam with pe foam) Is there anything else I should do?

The v1 is a solid entry board into the hobby :)

You can try stuff like adding pe foam above the pcb and taping the back of the pcb with painters/masking tape to modify the sound. Keychron also sells different plates for the v1, which will also change the sound.

Are the Polycarbonate plates good, or should I stick with stock. Is the difference also big and quite noticeable or is it miniscule?

You can place small silicone o-rings between the board and the tray mount standoffs. If you don’t torque the screws down too much it’ll technically soften up the typing experience a bit. Not sure by how much because I modded my V5 then gave it to my brother hours later. I liked the V5 for the few months I used it. My brother seems to like it.
