i’ve started wearing a bit more makeup recently, but i today i noticed that it gets ruined pretty quickly to an unbelievable extent.

today i put on some heavy eye makeup & a very light base (but including primer and powder) at around 6 am. Keep in mind that i’m at school all day doing basically nothing (except a 30 minute walk during lunch break). At around 2:30 I look in a mirror and turns out i look as if i’d been mauled by a bunch of animals and somehow brought back to life… Like, no matter what you’re picturing, it probably looked even worse. Like, i don’t mean to make myself sound like some sort of crybaby, but i was genuinely on the brink of tears after seeing myself like that from the sheer embarrassment. I literally felt like I was going to throw up - it was that bad…

Anyway, I guess I just don’t understand how it’s possible for my makeup to get that obliterated in a matter of a few hours while doing nothing? It’s not like i was working out or anything and i’m not a naturally sweaty person… Plus I tend to buy makeup others recommend.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the issue? :(

Could you please elaborate more on what’s happening with your makeup?

Don’t know how new you are to makeup but I sincerely have noticed that my face will look bad after a long day if I don’t let my primer dry completely before using foundation and then let it dry before adding more to my face.

You’re taking a 30minute walk during lunch hours - getting sweaty or just walking around?

well tbh i didn’t look at myself for more than 3 seconds, but from what i remember seeing, my eyeshadow/eyeliner was all smudged, the white shimmery eyeshadow i put on the corners of my eyes was all over my face, i had like no foundation left on my face, & my concealer was extremely flaky and weird looking

The eyeshadow is fixed by using an eyeshadow primer. Urban decays primer potion is really good.

Whatever you put in the corner of your eyes WILL disappear.

The foundation coming off is because of oil production, climate, and maybe you were touching your face without realising it. The flakyness is caused by oils breaking it down, or by the products drying out your skin. A good silicone primer will keep the oils at bay for longer but you will still need to do touch ups.

Skincare is more important than the products and technique. You need to be hydrated and moisturised or its going to look awful regardless.

I use the Estee lauder double wear powder foundation in my t zone because that’s where I get oily and my makeup lasts a lot longer.

Welcome to wearing makeup for a full day!
