🙋🏻‍♀️ I need to know the raw materials of my makeup are being mined in a moral way. How do you go about sourcing materials to whip up your own? I found out I live just 150 miles from one of the US’ comparably few talc deposits, but I’d be worried anything I can extract at this late date would contain asbestos.

Thank you so much for any advice or thoughts!

Is 150 miles close? Context: am British so that sounds weekend-trip-away far!

I’m not sure what you mean by moral? But in terms of carbon footprints and the environment, I’d strongly question how a single person making a 300 mile round trip in a car, for the sole purpose of beautifying one individual face, could ever be more ethical or environmentally friendly than buying something locally (esp. within walking distance or using public transpor), and thereby utilising the already-used, already-spent distribution network of large companies selling to millions of makeup wearers.
